PlayMPEG 1.00
=============
This program is Public Domain, and is provided 'as is'. The authors cannot
accept any liability for any damage or loss of any kind as a result of the
use of this program.
You are allowed to copy, distribute and use this program for any
non-commercial purposes, as long as this file is included unaltered.
PlayMPEG is a frontend for version 1.06 or later of our MPEG decoder.
When run, the program installs an icon on the iconbar. You may click on this
to open the player window, or you may drag an MPEG film to the icon (or to
the player window) to play the film.
Mouse
-----
When a film is playing, pressing ADJUST will pause the film, and pressing
MENU will stop film.
Multitask
---------
The player can display a MPEG film multitasking. You should never attempt
to run multiple films simultaneously; this will crash the computer.
Multitasking is achieved by running the MPEG decoder in a taskwindow and
setting the '-memory' switch. !PlayMPEG then communicates with the decoder
using the system variable MPEG$PlayStatus and displays the frame whenever
the decoder has finished writing the frame to a shared area of memory.
To switch to multitasking mode, select the menu 'Multitask' from the
icon bar menu.
If you change mode while the film is running the playback will be stopped.
The multitasking playback isn't quite tested yet but in most cases it
works without problems. Sometimes you may have to quit and restart !PlayMPEG
when you've played a film.
Please notice: Multitasking playback isn't meant for any serious use; it
is much, much too slow and buggy.
For further information, please read the !Help file for !MPEG.
